Wooden Ladder Signs
Our Wooden Ladder Signs are often used as Entrance Signs to welcome visitors to a property and provide them with information such as place names, basic directions, contact details, etc. Bespoke Entrance Signs are especially appropriate for rural industrial zones, private estates, country parks, National Trust properties, arboretums, private schools, public gardens, indeed wherever the public require control and direction.

The wooden Ladder Sign format is where a number of signboards, or one single board are fixed between two upright posts. This format provides scope for a huge range of different designs and configurations.

Our wooden Ladder Signs are constructed by hand from FSC-Certified English Oak. Text, graphic designs and logos are engraved and then infilled with paint, and custom graphic panels can be used to display more detailed imagery and logos to create a more visual impact.

Our wooden Ladder Signs are available in a range of different surface finishes - Painted, Fresh-Sawn, Oiled, and more.

The painted finish enhances the appearance of the sign and greatly reduces the effects of weathering. The fresh-sawn finish keeps the natural surface finish of the oak and is sanded smooth - and develops a beautiful weathered patina over time. The oiled finish is a multi-coat application on top of the fresh-sawn finish that enhances the grain pattern of the oak and reduces the effects of weathering. This finish is easily maintained by regular re-applications of oil each year.
The posts used for our wooden Ladder Signs measure 100mm x 100mm square and are available up to 3.2 metres in length. Up to 800mm of the post is inserted into the ground and fixed in place using concrete and reinforced by steel bars, which are inserted horizontally into the section of the posts that will be below ground level.

These posts come as standard with a 4-way pointed top, but any custom top design can be applied. Signboard sections are morticed to the posts or surfaced mounted, depending on customer preference.
