We specialize in manufacturing our wooden Fingerpost Signs from FSC-Certified kiln-dried English Oak. We also make signs from Eco-Friendly, wood effect black recycled plastic.
Black recycled plastic has several advantages over timber. The material is extremely durable and strong, does not degrade and is virtually unaffected by all types of natural weathering, therefore requiring very little to no maintenance. Black recyled plastic finger post signs also impart more visual impact by providing higher contrast to make coloured text, logos and symbols more prominent.
Our wooden Fingerpost Signs can be configured with any number of finger arms, installed into the post at any angle. Finger arms can be any shape or size and can be installed on multiple tiers upon the post. The maximum number of arms per tier would be 4, as any more than this could reduce the structural strength of the finger arm joints, in addition to restricting visibility.
Lettering and symbols are usually engraved then infilled with durable, weather-proof paints to ensure that they are easy to read. Custom graphic panels can also be used to display more detailed imagery and logos.
Waymarker discs can also be recessed into the finger arms to denote a specific trail or guided route, such as public bridleways, footpaths and more.
Finger arms are morticed to the finger post, then 2 or more oak dowels are used per arm to lock it in place. This jointing technique has been used by our craftsmen for decades and provides an exceptionally strong and durable joint.
The posts used for our wooden Fingerpost Signs measure 100mm x 100mm square and are available up to 3.2 metres in length. Up to 800mm of the post is inserted into the ground and fixed in place using concrete and reinforced by steel bars, which are inserted horizontally into the section of the post that will be below ground level.
